Munaluchi Bridal Tour

Early in December I was invited to the Munaluchi City to City Tour.   And I'm thinking I need to get a headshot done, because I am in a few pictures on their blog post about the event, but how would you know who I am!

Well in the link above about halfway through the pictures I am posing with two other lovely ladies.  One, my friend Zuzy (on the very left), who just moved back to the East Coast after 10 years on the West.  She's getting her feel back for the city and all things New York so I thought she would make a great plus one.  And the wonderful Petronella of Petronella photography, she's in the middle.  She is responsible for the pictures on their blog post and is one of the contributors in the fall/winter issue in stores now.   I recently met Petronella, and over lunch we discussed business and the world of weddings.  On a whim she decided to capture my trip, the next morning, to NYC to get flowers and supplies for that weekends wedding..all with little Olivia in tow.  I'm looking forward to posting the pictures!  Back to finding me...I am on the right, the brunette with the shimmery navy blue sweater.  Zuzy and I are also in a picture further down looking at the ridiculous pictures we took in the photo booth.

But I'm not posting about this so you can see me, I'm posting about it because I love Munaluchi Brides and how they have focused on a niche in the market that has gone overlooked by some of the other big bridal magazines.   The magazine caters towards brides of color, all color, and in the words of the Editor, Jacqueline Nwobu, (who I was so lucky to meet) it's a place where her daughter can see women who look like her, look beautiful.

The husband and wife team started the magazine out of their home and now their bi-yearly magazine is carried in major retailers like Barnes and Noble.  Pretty amazing.   I am so inspired by how successful they have become, with three young children running around (hmmm sounds very familiar to me!).  It helps me to push through those days when honestly taking care of three children and continuing to build my floral design business just seems daunting.

This was actually my first night out since the birth of my third five months prior…and it was much needed!   They gave me a reason to actually put real people clothes on, do my hair, and have a night on the town.  Thank you Munaluchi Bride for a wonderful evening.
